How to Regain Trust in the Political System
In a third research line, we investigate whether and how trust in the political system can be regained through public policies.
We will use several methodologies that provide information to individuals about safety-net policies. To the extent that these policies mitigate income shocks, we expect them to mitigate the transmission between economic shocks and distrust.
We will also exploit quasi-experimental evidence on access to different policies. Finally, we are also conducting randomized control trials that facilitate access to several interventions targeted to vulnerable populations.
